You will have probably seen those diabolical hourglass-shaped devices that are spun on a string, using a pair of wands, and are then tossed up into the air. Let's just forget it. Considering performances with the so-called 'diabolo' twin-cup props, the way in which this young Taiwanese artist presents what has become a classic 'circus-type' act can not be associated with what you have seen so far. Chia Cheng Sung, now highly acclaimed in China, where he has become an authentic star, acquiring many followers in countries all around the world, has an entirely different approach when it comes to 'diabolo' tricks. He is driven by an innovative, very modern outlook. His performance involves dance-like movements and perfectly arranged choreographic aspects. In this way he manages to transform his work into a visual-art session, within a highly sophisticated context. At the Salieri Circus he will present a revolutionary choreographic performance.
